Douglas Stowell earned his degree in finance from Utah State University, with minors in economics and accounting. After graduating, Stowell spent ten years as a licensed Series 7 stockbroker as a member of the New York Stock Exchange.
In 1993, Stowell returned to school and obtained his law degree from the University of Utah. He then entered private practice, gaining experience at an insurance defense firm before transitioning to a firm specializing in municipal tort liability and white-collar criminal defense.
In 1996, Stowell founded this law firm. In 2005, Christopher Crayk joined him, forming Stowell Crayk PLLC.
Stowell has served as a small claims court judge in Utah’s Third District Court, Murray Division. He has been recognized by Utah Business Magazine as a top lawyer in criminal defense. His practice areas include criminal defense, real estate, contract and business disputes, family law, and personal injury.
A fundamental part of Stowell Crayk PLLC has been its commitment to representing indigent criminal defendants in multiple municipalities along the Wasatch Front. This experience has provided the firm’s attorneys with extensive litigation and courtroom experience.
